When Cut Copy offered their hand on Where I’m Going, the first leak of their third album, it was an open invitation to an uncharted destination. The festive explosion of kaleidoscopic Californian acid hippie reborn as UK glam star explored new terrain, hinting a further evolution for a group that is yet to make the same record twice.
Zonoscope was dreamt in the comedown of In Ghost Colours, the album which cemented Cut Copy as a global sensation.

Washed Out
Washed Out is Ernest Greene, a young guy from Georgia (via South Carolina) who makes bedroom synthpop that sounds blurred and woozily evocative, like someone smeared Vaseline all over an early OMD demo tape, then stayed up all night trying to recreate what they heard. To hear Greene tell it, he’s only been making music as Washed Out for a couple of months. – Pitchfork
Midnight Magic
When Midnight Magic popped up on Tim Sweeney’s Beats In Space ‘Best of 2009’ they really should’ve had a record out. They also should’ve had something available for download when they appeared on a recent Best of Myspace U.K. And it probably would’ve been a good idea to have something in the shops when Patrick Adams of Waves at Night told his readers that Midnight Magic was “going to be a very hot prospect for ’10.” But they didn’t. Not the best idea. No: not the best idea at all. The best idea was for them to release their first single, ‘Beam Me Up,’ on Permanent Vacation Records this summer—And that wasn’t even their idea! We have to thank the Germans for finally putting an end to the madness.
