Rustic Overtones Viva Nueva Re-Release
Rustic Overtones Viva Nueva Re-Release
Rustic Overtones will perform the 2001 album ‘Viva Nueva’ in its entirety at Port City Music Hall on October 10, 2014 to celebrate the album’s digital (itunes, spotify, etc) re-release. To the chagrin of many Rustic Overtones fans, Viva Nueva has been unavailable and out of print for close to a decade. Written under the production talent of Tony Visconti, Viva Nueva combines sounds and flavors of Gil Evans, Marvin Gaye, Dave Matthews, Dicky Barrett, and David Bowie, the last of whom actually appears on the album twice, on the track Sector Z as well as on the track Man Without a Mouth (which has been featured on the television series 24). Recorded while signed to Arista Records, this album was eventually shopped to Tommy Boy when Rustic Overtones decided to part ways with Arista after a disagreement over stylistic preference. The band found a happy home with Tommy Boy Records, until, like so many other independents of that time, the label eventually collapsed thanks to the advent and subsequent popularity of the illegal download around the turn of the millennium.

The rest is a sort of history, and what remains is one of the greatest albums ever to come out of Maine, Viva Nueva, which is now available for download on iTunes. http://bit.ly/1jrM9PR This show at Port City Music Hall will be the only Viva Nueva show, as the band will not be touring this event.
Wild Adriatic
Wild Adriatic
Wild Adriatic is a band of four friends seeking to carry forth the torch of timeless rock n roll infused with tons of soul, captivating guitar work, and an impressive live show. The Saratoga Springs, NY outfit released their latest EP “Lock & Key” in April 2012 and immediately picked back up with their relentless performance schedule throughout the East Coast.

A series of quirky music videos and a humble, eager-to-connect-with-people mindset has quickly brought the band positive attention from music lovers, press, and industry heads alike. In addition, the band has been lucky enough to be asked to support acts such as MuteMath, Matt & Kim, Company of Thieves, Flogging Molly, Third Eye Blind, Phantogram, All American Rejects, The Asteroids Galaxy Tour, Deer Tick, and many more.
