The Fogcutters and the State Theatre present the return of
Big Band Syndrome
Maine’s biggest acts with The Fogcutters’ twist
Featuring:
Anna Lombard (of Anna & The Diggs)
Andi Fawcett (of Doubting Gravity)
Adam Waxman
Dan Capaldi (of Sea Level)
EYENINE
Kyle Gervais (of Grand Hotel)
Lady Zen
Spencer Albee
The Fogcutters are a 19-piece big band with a fresh approach to a traditional style of music that incorporates modern sounds and a melting pot of musical styles. The band plays standard big band repertoire but isn’t afraid to cross into uncharted territories. The Fogcutters are proud to back the lush and soulful vocal stylings of Stephanie Davis and Chas Lester. Boasting 13 horns, a rockin’ rhythm section, and two of Portland’s great voices, it’s hard not to love the big band’s style and energy.
Following the enormous success of last year’s event, The Fogcutters and the State Theatre are excited to announce the return of Big Band Syndrome at the State Theatre on Friday, December 7. The recording of the 2011 show was released this past spring – and Big Band Syndrome Vol. 1 was the only the beginning of something bigger... this year the Fogcutters aim to step up the game with the Dec. 7 show, presenting all new, original arrangements of 8 local musicians’ songs as well as the FC’s own original material. So come check out First Friday and cap it off with your favorite local music like you’ve never heard it before.
